Crysocolla Chrysocolla is a mineral the name of which is derived from the Greek words “gold” and “glue”, because in the past its powder was used as an adhesive while processing gold. It was first mentioned by Theophrastus in 372-287 BC. It is considered to have therapeutic properties, to prevent ulcers and alleviate convulsions. It is discharged into tepid water but can be quickly recharged if left in sunlight. Chrysocolla should be protected from sudden temperature changes, abrasives and acids. It can be cleaned only with soap and water.
