Rutile – quartz with inclusions
the name quartz was used by Agricola in 1529. Eastern cultures regarded quartz as the stone of patience and perfection and in Tibet it was used to heal wounds.
The rutile appears with a multitude of golden needles. It is also called the Count of Venus or Fleches d’amour which means the arrows of love. It is usually cut into a cabochon and less often into a baguette cut.
