Citrine is a transparent variety of quartz that is slightly yellow in color, typically found in volcanic rocks. Citrine’s color is due to the presence of iron hydroxide. It is also said to be the stone of joy and happiness and in ancient times it was used to ward off evil. It is mined in Brazil, Uruguay, Mexico and the Urals.
